Appointment Types & Duration

  • Standard Appointment – 15 minutes
Suitable for one main health concern.

  • Long Appointment – 30 minutes
If you have multiple health concerns, a complex issue, or feel you may need more time with your doctor, please contact our reception team to arrange a longer appointment.

  • One Patient Per Appointment
Appointments are for one patient only. If another family member also needs to see the doctor, please book a separate appointment for them. This helps ensure each patient receives the appropriate time and care they need.

  • Telehealth Appointments
Telehealth appointments may be available where appropriate. Please contact our reception team if you are unsure whether a telehealth appointment is suitable for you.

Telephone & Electronic Communication

Patients may contact Forest Lake Local Doctors during normal clinic hours on 07 2111 9111.
Our doctors may not always be available to take telephone calls while consulting. Reception staff can take an appropriate message and arrange for it to be forwarded to the relevant team member.
Clinical concerns requiring assessment may require an appointment rather than being managed by telephone or electronic communication.
Emails should not be used for urgent medical matters and are not a substitute for a medical consultation.

Please include a link here to our Electronic Communication with Patients document.

Reminder & Recall System

Forest Lake Local Doctors is committed to preventative healthcare and appropriate patient follow-up.
Patients may be contacted by SMS, telephone or other appropriate communication methods regarding recalls, reminders, follow-up care and preventative health services.
Patients are encouraged to keep their contact details up to date and to follow the instructions provided if they receive a recall or reminder from the practice.

Test Results

Patients may be contacted where their doctor determines that pathology, imaging or other investigation results require follow-up.
Patients may be asked to arrange an appointment with their doctor to discuss results where clinically appropriate.
Reception staff are unable to provide clinical interpretation of test results.

Prescriptions, Referrals & Forms

Requests for repeat prescriptions, referrals, medical certificates, forms or other clinical documentation will require an appointment with the treating doctor.
Patients can contact the practice or book an appointment on HotDoc.
Fees may apply to some services or documentation.

Interpreter Services

Patients who require an interpreter should advise our reception team when booking their appointment so appropriate arrangements can be made.

Accessibility & Individual Needs

Patients with mobility, communication, cultural or other individual needs that may affect their visit are encouraged to advise reception when booking so that we can assist where possible.
